Korean Strawberry Milk

by MJ

Strawberry milk is a popular drink served in Korean restaurants and cafes. Made with chunks of fresh strawberries, this light and refreshing drink will become one of your favorites! This delicious drink can be made at home in under 10 minutes using only 3 ingredients.

  • Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are best for this recipe, especially when they’re in season. If possible, use ripe and soft strawberries as they’re easier to mash. (Frozen strawberries also can be used )
  • Sugar: Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar based on your preference. White sugar is generally added but you can use sugar substitute.
  • Milk: Use your choice of milk or non dairy milk such as almond, cashew, coconut, oak or soy milk.

To make strawberry milk:

Wash and cut off the stems of the strawberries. Puree the strawberries in a blender or cut the strawberries into small pieces and mash using a fork or potato masher in a bowl.

Transfer the strawberries into a pot and add sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for about 1 minute stirring often. Turn off the heat and cool completely. You can also place the puree in the fridge to cool faster.

Meanwhile, slice some strawberries for the topping and optional garnish for the glass rim. Chop as little or as much as you want for the topping.

Once cooled, divide the puree into 2 glasses. You can swirl the puree around to make an optional pattern on the glass.

Pour in the milk and top with reserved strawberries. Enjoy!
